Ignacio Michaud Ferreyra

(b. 1979, Santiago, Chile) is a Chilean-born abstract painter based in Atlanta, GA. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile before relocating to the United States in 2005.

Michaud’s creative process unfolds across various fields — from sketchbooks and sticky notes to digital captures on his iPhone — channeling rapid exchanges between intuition and structure. These preliminary impressions evolve into abstract compositions, where line and color intersect to form organic yet deliberate visual rhythms.

His work has been exhibited in numerous group and solo shows across the U.S., including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Baltimore, New York, Birmingham, Nashville, and Atlanta.

Notable recognitions include inclusion in the national publication New American Painting (South edition) in 2023 and being awarded the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Biennial Award in 2024.
